"Catching Ellsworth Kelly" is a series of photograph depicting three cell windows from a temporary prison in Zambia. The windows are decorated with abstract motifs which can be associated towards paintings by Ellsworth Kelly's paintings. The photos lean towards painterly references, simultaneously as the can be seen as tongue-in-cheek comments towards the relevance of modernism in regards to political and social questions.
The complete series can be purchased for 4.800,- NOK

Artist statementMy project based work materialize as sculptures, photography and books. It is of an analytical nature, with a focus on raising questions regarding knowledge and history. Its point of departure is often associated with photographic and architectonic ideas and practices which have had an influence on the general society and the public space. My approach to the background material is both analytical and associative, and my artistic expression move between the immediate and the referential.
